Germany’s national team manager Joachim Loew has admitted that the team’s preparation for the Euro 2016 will be affected in the wake of the recent Paris attacks.
Terrorists carried out attacks on the French capital with suicide bombs and so on. This left a huge path of destruction with several people dead. The attack comes just a few months prior to the Euro 2016. The European Championship is one of the major international tournaments for the European nations. After having recently been crowned as the world champions, Germany will be looking to assert their superiority by claiming this title from the clutches of Spain.
The Spaniards have won the last two European championships, but they come into this tournament on the back of doubts about their ability. Germany are seen as the favourites to win the title ahead of the tournament, but Loew says that his team are yet to recover fully from the horrors of recent weeks. The destruction caused by the attacks will be felt during the tournament and it will take a long time for the nation to recover according to Loew. He says that his players will find it difficult to concentrate on the match at this difficult time.
