Djamel Belmadi Is Now The New Coach Of Algeria

The football federation of Algeria has appointed Djamel Belmadi, the former international their new manager. They have signed the deal of four years and deal was finalized when Belmadi agreed to the four-year deal. In the span of two years, Belmadi becomes the sixth manager of the North African nation in two years. He is the successor Rabah Madjer who got was sacked in this June.

Belmadi is now 42 years-old and Algeria’s federation has confirmed that the former midfielder of Manchester City and Southampton has agreed to sign a long-term contract. This contract will tie him down with Les Fennecs until the World Cup of 2022. According to the sources, both Carlos Queiroz and Vahid Halilhodzic negotiated with the Algerian federation; however, no party got the success in the agreeing the financial terms.

Coach Aziz Bouras, the Former goalkeeping has also come back to the set up of national teams after resigning last February. The immediate task of Belmadi will be to qualify the team of Algeria for the Africa Cup of Nations that will take place in the year 2019. The first competitive game of Belmadi in charge will be a 2019 Africa Nations Cup qualifier that will be away from and will take place in September.

The appointment of Belmadi as a coach has spread the happiness and enthusiasm in the team of Algeria and players are hopeful that they will have a good time with the new coach. “Belmadi is an experienced player and he knows a lot about the game. He has coaching experience of a good number of years. This coaching experience will certainly make the team strong in its performance. We are expecting long association with him.” said a senior authority of the Algeria football federation.
